AIA Charleston has a long-standing tradition of recognizing a broad range of architecture activity that exemplifies the values of the South Carolina Low Country and improves the quality of the built environment in the communities we serve. The triennial award program seeks to highlight the diverse range of project types that exist within the region. The AIA believes that awards programs should be carefully structured so that the selection and recognition of honorees elevates the general quality of architectural practice, establishes a standard of excellence against which all Architects can measure performance, and informs the public of the importance of design. AIA Charleston achieves this purpose by establishing and sponsoring the following awards and subcategories:

Reception

AIA Charleston is pleased to announce the 2025 Design and Service Awards. We are proud to bring this year to a close with a celebration of local architects and their projects. The 2025 Design and Service Awards will be held at Trinity Hall on October 3rd. Admission includes an open bar and heavy h’ors d’ouevres. Ticket sales will be announced via email. It is important that all applicants plan to attend the Ceremony or have a representative from the firm in attendance to accept any awards presented. Certificates for all award-winning projects will be presented at the awards ceremony. The winner will receive three certificates, one for the architect, one for the owner, and one for the contractor. Additional certificates will be available at the expense of the award recipient.

AIA Charleston intends to publish all design award entries. Therefore, drawings and photographs mustn’t be restricted against publication. It is the entrant’s responsibility to clear all drawings and photographs for release. A form will be provided to you to secure the necessary permission. With your online submission, please include a separate JPEG file containing one public display image with the entry number. This can be a photograph or a collection of images that best represents the project and will be used for publicity
